About HowTheyAct
HowTheyAct is a free, nonpartisan congressional record tool. We pull data from the official congress.gov API and present it clearly so anyone can look up their representative's record without digging through government databases.
What we show
Voting attendance, bills sponsored and enacted, committee assignments, tenure, leadership roles, and next election date — all from official federal sources.
What we don't do
- We do not score, rank, or rate members based on their votes or party positions.
- We do not editorialize. The data speaks for itself.
- We do not require accounts or registration.
- We do not store your searches or sell your data.
- We do not run ads.
Data source
All data comes from the congress.gov API, maintained by the Library of Congress. It is the authoritative federal source for congressional records.
